Saturday, December 11, or Sunday, December 12: Ninth-graders will take the SHSAT at a central DOE location.Sunday, December 5, or Saturday, December 11: Eighth-graders who attend charter, private, parochial, or independent schools, or who are homeschooled, will take the SHSAT at a central DOE location.Thursday, December 2: Eighth-graders who attend a public DOE-run middle school will take the SHSAT at their current school during the school day.The 2021 SHSAT will be administered on the following dates: You can get your test ticket online via your MySchools account, from your school counselor or by contacting a Family Welcome Center. Students who registered for the SHSAT will receive a personalized test ticket that will confirm when and where they'll take the exam. If you missed the SHSAT or if you didn’t register for the exam before the deadline, you may still request a make-up by reaching out to your school counselor or a Family Welcome Center by December 8, 2021. LaGuardia High School, the 9th specialized high school, selects students based on auditions as well as a review of their middle school academic records. Each year more than 25,000 8th-graders take the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) to vie for roughly 5,000 seats at eight of the nine specialized high schools, including Bronx Science, Brooklyn Latin, Brooklyn Tech, High School for Math Science and Engineering at City College, High School of American Studies at Lehman College, Queens High School of Science at York College, Staten Island Tech, and Stuyvesant.
